WHAT’S INSIDE….

Back Issue #3 begins with a revised version of an interview that appeared in the previous issue. Colin of Flux Of Pink Indians had apparently said bad things about the head honchos of anarcho-punk - Crass (to whom Flux owed rather a lot) - and remorsefully sent in new answers to the same questions….

Having cleared up that misunderstanding, the fanzine continues with excellent features on Athletico Spizz 80, Swell Maps and TV Personalities, plus a somewhat unsuccessful interview with Girls At Our Best! which had to be reconstructed from memory due to dodgy recording.

The cover pic of Dave Vanian is adapted from the sleeve of The Damned’s 1979 single “Love Song” and the interview with Vanian and Captain Sensible is probably the best thing on offer here….

Singles reviewed include The Fall’s awesome “Totally Wired” and the conclusion is that "The Fall have become predictable in their weirdness but still they’re a great group and this is well worth getting".

The following fanzines get a mention on the Better Badges advertising pages: Shake, Grinding Halt, Merseysound, Reuters, Breach Of The Peace, Real Life, Rising Free, Vague, Wool City Rocker, The Poser, Pretentious, 1984, Nihilistic Vices, ZG, Peroxide, Ten Commandments, Wombat Weekly and Sign Of The Times - some of which I’ve still got, a few I used to have and others that I never tracked down….
